The first European settlements in Maryland were made in 1634 when English settlers created a permanent colony.
Rebecca Nicholson Ricketts was born on April 19, 1681 in Anne Arundel, County, Maryland. She was the daughter of John Nicholson and Rebecca Beard.
She married Thomas Ricketts, Jr. on December 10, 1702 in South River, Anne Arundel, Maryland. Their children and life together are described in detail in the section on Thomas and Rebecca Ricketts.
She died the same year as the Boston Tea Party on March 18, 1773 and was buried at All Hallows Cemetery in Davidsonville, Anne Arundel County, Maryland.
